Out and About Day

Thanks to the organisers of the inaugural Public Out and About Day for inviting me to guide Meditation with Place on beautiful Fisherman’s beach

When: 1pm-4pm Sunday 16th September
Where: Fisherman’s Beach, Torquay

Background
The day is an extension of the Out and About research project, a collaboration between St Therese Catholic Primary School (Torquay), Clare Court Children’s Service (Yarraville), and Victoria University. In response to the devastating state of the environment and the lack of relationship between people and the planet, the Out and About project supports children, educators, families, and the community to build deep relationships with environment, plants, and animals. These relationships are the way to re-think our actions and how to engage as custodians of the land and places where we live

Deakin Alumni Keynote

Thanks to Deakin Alumni for inviting me to deliver the keynote address at your professional development and networking event.

I enjoyed sharing about core elements of Surf Psychology – in particular the mindset and approach of big wave riders – to illuminate the basis for high performance and personal enrichment in all our sporting, business and wider life adventures.

The talk includes a clip of some work I did with Tom Carroll and Ross Clarke-Jones for the Storm Surfer’s documentary, Pipeline poetry from Gerry Lopez and a number of insights from Kelly Slater, Clyde Aikau and other top surfers I have been fortunate to share time with.
